2020, a year to forget!

2020, a year to be forgotten!

Chairman’s update for the year

2020 has been a difficult year for our club as I am sure it has been for many others, the year started off with us being very busy both in the classes and the gym, but Covid 19 hit and in line with Government policies we had to close our facility on the 20th of March and were not allowed to reopen until the 1st of September, we unfortunately did not qualify for any third-party financial assistance, so we were feeling the impact of this terrible virus, as I am sure many more did, but we had always planed for any financial difficulties and we were in a strong financial position to weather this storm.

On our return things had to be done differently a whole new booking system along with a track and trace programme had to be created and put in place and with regards to these systems I must thank one individual Mr Michael McGruther of NPT Solutions Ltd who stepped in and designed a whole new system for us without his help we would have struggled to comply with the governments guidelines in the time frame we did.

It is now nearing the start of 2021 and we were all hoping and praying that this year would be different from the previous, but we find ourselves in another lock down Tier 4, we are unsure when we will get to open our facility after the start of the New Year as I believe the politicians running our country don’t know themselves and it keeps changing day by day, we will be ready when we are allowed to reopen making sure your fitness facility is open and ready for you to use as we did throughout the later part of this year, what is important is we stay safe and well and come through these terrible times and resume our lives with some sort of normality.

I would like to thank all the Fraserburgh Fitness Centre staff and our volunteers (Instructors and committee members) for their dedication and professionalism throughout these difficult times and to you our members who have supported us throughout the year, everyone at the centre is looking forward to seeing you all in 2021.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

Albert Ross

Chairman
